Ardboe and Clann na nGael Share Points
The seniors travelled to Clann na nGael on Sunday and came away with a point which keeps them out of the play off’s. Final Score Clann Na nGael; 1-15, Ardboe; 2-12 Congratulations to Ciara Mallaghan who represented Ardboe in the Summer Camp selection in the County Final. Ardboe Defeat Trillick in League
Ardboe seniors made the long journey to Trillick on Sunday in search of two points that would ensure they stay clear of the relegation zone. The Rossa’s got off to a blistering start in the first period, Brian McGuigan opened the account with a point from play which Trillick cancelled out moments later. Frank converted a free to restore Ardboe’s lead and added a goal after Ryan Quinn found Brian McGuigan in Space, he turned his man and place the ball in the path of brother Frank who fisted to the back of the net. The home side responded with a brace of points and Tommy McGuigan hit one before the Rossa’s began their purple patch where they converted 3 goal in 10 minutes to effectively kill the game.
Brian McGuigan got the first when he received a ball from Raymond Forbes and had no trouble beating the Trillick custodian. Frank added his second when he was on the end of a Brian McGuigan pass and the third came minutes later when Tommy McGuigan fired home to put Ardboe 12 point ahead. Trillick responded with a point and were gifted with a goal when a shot come off the upright and bounced awkwardly of Raymond McElroy into the Ardboe net. Half Time Score;- Trillick 1-04, Ardboe 4-03.
Trillick opened the scoring in the second half with a point from play, while Tommy McGuigan re-establish Ardboe’s advantage with another fine point. Trillick converted another point before Tommy McGuigan netted for the second time. Gavin Wylie(2) and Nishy O’Neill added points for Ardboe and then Frank McGuigan rounded off the goal blitz with his third and Ardboe’s sixth goal of the game. Trillick scored another consolation point from a free but Ardboe were deserved winners. Final Score; Trillick 1-07 Ardboe 6-07

Coyle's Minors take All Ireland Glory!
Tyrone 0-12 Kerry 0-10
Tyrone's fearsome reputation at underage level was further embellished at Croke Park when the Red Hand county scooped this year's All-Ireland MFC title with a hard-fought win over worthy finalists Kerry in an entertaining final.
The northerners were full value for their narrow win with their greater division of labour in attack, plus a potent midfield and a more consistent backline giving them the edge for most of the match.
The first half was a topsy-turvy affair as both sides struggled to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.
And while Tyrone were marginally the more impressive side in the first half, Kerry gave as good as they got after a tentative start.
That nervy start saw the Kingdom youngsters fall behind by 0-0 to 0-3 after 11 minutes with Colm Cavanagh giving the northerners the perfect start with a point after just 31 seconds.
Tyrone had an early let-off though when the Kingdom's most dangerous attacker, Paul O'Connor, cut inside his marker Niall McGinn but his fierce shot richocheted off the crossbar to the relief of the Ulster lads.
Still despite being largely outplayed in the opening quarter, Kerry still managed to trail by just the odd point in five with the aforementioned O'Connor's free narrowing Tyrone's lead to the minimum.
Kerry slowly but surely upped the ante and it took a great diving block by Niall Kerr to prevent Daniel Doyle's piledriver from flying goalwards.
Thanks to the in-form O'Connor, Kerry remained very much on the heels of their opponents but the fact that Tyrone's six first half points all came from different players was ominous as the Kingdom increasingly relied on O'Connor to give them a lift.
O'Connor's fine point in the 30th minute, after a fine pass from Kieran Kellegher, served to draw the sides level for the first time in the match, 0-5 to 0-5, but Tyrone had the last say in the half when a great run by full-back Paul Marlow sent the overlapping Ronan McRory through for the lead point.
Ahead by 0-6 to 0-5 at the start of the second half, Tyrone at first laboured in trying to consolidate their narrow advantage and yet another point from O'Connor two minutes into the half levelled matters for the second time.
However the O'Neill county then hit a purple patch and four points without reply, including two brillant points on the run from McRory helped give Tyrone a four point lead for the first time in the match by the 37th minute.
Kerry always looked capable of opening up the Tyrone defence though and it needed a timely interception by Paul Marlow to deny the loitering O'Connor possession after the Kerry attacker sought to get on the end of a long delivery from team-mate Kellegher.
O'Connor had better luck though in the 52nd minute when he launched over an inspirational point from all of 40 metres to cut Tyrone's lead to three points, 0-10 to 0-7.
But Tyrone refused to panic and although Kerry proceeded to out-score them in the final seven minutes with nice efforts from sub. Eddie Mangan and colleague Brian Moran, the northerners had more than enough left in the locker to see them through as deserved and impressive victors.

The U16s were at home to Coalisland on Wednesday evening in the first round of the championship and after a great league run of 3 wins hopes were high but they failed to score for 48 minutes and 2 frees from Kyle Coney was all they could manage in reply to 2-13 from Coalisland. Tyrone minors beat Down in All Ireland Semi Finals
The conveyor belt of underage talent in Tyrone shows no sign of abating as they qualified for the All-Ireland MFC final thanks to a narrow win over Down.
Tyrone ............................................. 1-8 Down ............................................... 1-7
This was the third meeting between the sides after their Ulster final clash had gone to a replay. Down, with a much altered team line out, opened the scoring through Ciaran Brannigan and despite much huff and puff failed to add to that score before Ray Mulgrew responded for Tyrone on nine minutes.
Cathal O'Neill then put the O'Neill County ahead before Ryan Kelly and Mulgrew swapped scores to leave Tyrone 0-3 to 0-2 ahead at the end of the first quarter.
Down then got through for a goal after Brannigan picked up a long delivery inside the Tyrone full back line and had little difficulty firing home.Tyrone responded magnificently to that score as Aidan Cassidy and the impressive Mulgrew fired over points to leave the sides level at the interval, 0-5 to 1-2.Kelly and Mulgrew again swapped points on the restart before Stephen Sands put the Down men ahead once more on 39 minutes.
The game was on a knife's edge at this point and the next score, a Tyrone goal, proved to be the crucial moment in the match.Full forward Colm Cavanagh, brother of senior star Sean, fired home a magnificent three pointer to put his side into a lead they would not relinquish. Both sides swapped points late on but the Tyrone defence held out despite a late onslaught by Ross Carr's side.

Mayo end Tyrone's Dreams
Mayo 0-16 Tyrone 1-9
Mayo completed a great day for the underdog at Croke Park when they ended Tyrone's reign as All-Ireland champions with a richly deserved victory in front of 56,310 spectators.
Playing with a level of confidence that has rarely been seen from Mayo teams at GAA headquarters in the past, John Maughan's side were simply too good for a Tyrone team that found themselves chasing the game from the outset. While there was a freshness about Mayo's play, the same could not be said about the All-Ireland champions who looked a tired team after their exertions in the qualifying series. Not even the presence of Peter Canavan on the pitch from the 22nd minute onwards could provide them with the spark that was needed to trouble a very focused and impressive Mayo outfit.
Mayo, who now face Fermanagh in an unlikely All-Ireland semi-final pairing, took the game to their fancied opponents from the start and were never once headed. When Tyrone did manage to get themselves onto level terms courtesy of a spectacular goal from Stephen O'Neill 10 minutes after the restart, Mayo immediately redoubled their efforts and closed out the game with four unanswered points between the 52nd and 69th minutes.
The Westerners had many heroes, particularly in attack where Kieran McDonald, Alan Dillon and Trevor Mortimer flourished. David Brady also had a huge game at midfield, scoring 0-3 in the process. Wing forward James Gill also deserves special mention for curtailing Sean Cavanagh's trademark runs forward from midfield.
A very open first half began brightly for the Connacht champions who led by 0-2 to 0-0 after eight minutes thanks to points from Trevor Mortimer and midfielder David Brady. Eoin Mulligan opened Tyrone's account from a free in the 11th minute before Dillon and Conor Mortimer responded with a further brace of points for the underdogs.
Another Mulligan free reduced the deficit before Dillon landed his second point to give Mayo a 0-5 to 0-2 lead after 20 minutes. Mark Harte and Dillon then exchanged frees before Tyrone were forced to introduce their talisman Peter Canavan as a replacement for Shane Sweeney in the 22nd minute. When Kieran McDonald pointed a '45' to give Mayo a 0-7 to 0-3 advantage, Tyrone looked to be in trouble but with wing forward Gerald Cavlan making a difference at midfield, they hauled themselves back into contention with two quick points from Stephen O'Neill (the latter could just as easily have been a goal).
Ronan McGarrity restored Mayo's three-point advantage before Canavan, with his first chance, narrowed the gap once again. Despite losing their way somewhat, Mayo hit back with a free from Conor Mortimer, but they were fortunate that their advantage wasn't wiped out in the 33rd minute when Mulligan spurned a decent goalscoring opportunity after he had claimed possession from Peter Burke's poor kick-out. Three minutes later, Cavlan kicked a great long-range point to leave just two between the sides, 0-7 to 0-9, at the break.
Dillon and O'Neill traded points on the restart before, in a bizarre sequence of play, O'Neill and Harte both struck the upright from point-scoring attempts (Cavlan and Mulligan would also see efforts come back off the post before the end).
When points from Brady and Conor Mortimer made it 0-12 to 0-9 with 44 minutes elapsed, the Red Hands' grip on Sam Maguire looked to be slipping but within a minute, they levelled the game when O'Neill fired an unstoppable shot to the top right hand corner of Peter Burke's net after good approach play from Cavlan.
Remarkably, though, that proved to be Tyrone's last score as a fresher and more purposeful Mayo took control once again. Trevor Mortimer fisted them back in front before the outstanding Dillon pointed a free from out on the left.
The rampaging Brady restored Mayo's three-point advantage after 61 minutes, but it wasn't until just before the end of full-time that the Connacht champions made victory safe with another Dillon free after Brian Maloney had been fouled just outside the 20-metre line.
Tyrone tried desperately to force a goal in injury-time, but the Mayo defence maintained their composure, much to the delight of their supporters who streamed onto the pitch after referee Paddy Russell sounded his final whistle.
Mayo - P Burke, C Moran, D Heaney, G Ruane, F Costello, J Nallen, P Gardner, R McGarrity 0-1, D Brady 0-3, J Gill, K McDonald 0-1, A Dillon 0-6, C Mortimer 0-3, T Mortimer 0-2, B Maloney. Subs: P Kelly for Costello, A Moran for C Mortimer, D Sweeney for Heaney, A O’Malley for Maloney
Tyrone - P McConnell, R McMenamin, C Gormley, M McGee, J McMahon, S Sweeney, P Jordan, K Hughes, S Cavanagh, B Dooher, G Cavlan 0-1, C Gourley, M Harte 0-1, O Mulligan 0-3, S O’Neill 1-3. Subs: D Carlin for Gormley, P Canavan 0-1 for Sweeney, B McGuigan for Harte, C McCullagh for McGee

Tyrone through to Quarter Finals
Tyrone 3-15 Laois 2-4
Defending champions Tyrone remain on course for back-to-back blue riband football titles after coasting to a facile 14 point win over lack-lustre Laois in a disappointing fourth round All-Ireland SFC qualifier in front of 63,000 fans at Croke Park.
Mark Harte notched 2-3 over the course of the 70 minutes as the northerners posted notice of their intention to retain the Sam Maguire Cup.
Things couldn't have went much worse for Mick O'Dwyer's men with a broken leg suffered by Beano McDonald late in the second half capping a nightmare afternoon for the midlanders.
From the moment Sean Cavanagh set up Eoin Mulligan for a fisted goal in the 3rd minute, an air of inevitability wafted its way over proceedings at headquarters.
Shane Cooke had opened the scoring in the game after two minutes when Shane Cooke was on target but the Leinstermen weren't to score again until the 2nd minute of the second half when Beano McDonald banged home a goal via a deflection off Tyrone defender Mickey McGee.
McDonald's goal represented a false dawn though for the losers-elect who trailed by 0-1 to 2-8 at the interval.
Wind-aided Tyrone were in a class of their own in the first half with points by Eoin Mulligan, Cavanagh, Stephen O'Neill and Harte (free) stretching the northerners' lead to eight points, 1-6 to 0-1, by the 20th minute.
And the writing was very much on the wall for Laois nine minutes later when Brian Dooher and Stephen O'Neill helped open up the Laois defence to allow Mark Harte notch his opening goal of the game in the 30th minute.
McDonald's goal on the restart did give the Laoismen some renewed hope but, instead, Tyrone easily maintained their cushioned lead, matching their opponents point for point.
By the 15th minute of the second half, Tyrone were sitting pretty on foot of a 2-8 to 1-2 lead and although Kevin Fitzpatrick pulled a goal back - after Kevin Clancy's fine interception - Laois failed badly to make any further inroads on their opponents thereafter.
Tyrone were never rattled and the freak accident to Beano - after an accidental tangle of legs with Ryan McMenamin - went Laois's final flicker of hope.
The blue and whites did battle on bravely to the end but a sole point in added-on time by Donal Miller was their sole counter to a string of fine Tyrone scores, most notably by livewire Harte whose goal in the 33rd minute put the requisite polish on a thoroughly professional display.
Tyrone; P McConnell, R McMenamin, C Gormley, M McGee, J McMahon, S Sweeney, P Jordan, K Hughes, S Cavanagh (0-3), B Dooher (0-1), B McGuigan (0-2), G Cavlan, M Harte (2-3, three frees), O Mulligan (1-3, one free), S O'Neill (0-3). Subs; C Gourley for McMahon; B Collins for O Mulligan; J Devine for McConnell; D Carlin for McMenamin; C Lawn for Sweeney.

McGuigan's Goal Powers Tyrone to Victory
Tyrone ............................ 1-16 Galway ............................ 0-11
Peter Canavan proved to be Tyrone's trump card as the All-Ireland champions produced a late scoring burst to end Galway's championship interests in front of 28,712 spectators at Croke Park.
Canavan's introduction after 55 minutes was the spark which ignited Tyrone and enabled them to pull away from a weary Galway side in the closing stages. In what was his first appearance for the Red Hands since last year's All-Ireland final, Canavan marked his arrival with a brilliant point and Tyrone looked a different team thereafter. Until then, the game had been finely poised with Galway having reeled off three points without reply to reduce the deficit to the minimum.
Tyrone looked mighty impressive after Canavan's arrival, firing over nine points in the final 15 minutes to blitz a Galway team which has seen better days at GAA headquarters. Given that Tyrone hit 15 wides to Galwayís five, the final scoreline was perhaps a fair reflection of their overall dominance.
Galway were quickest out of the blocks with Derek Savage pointing inside the first minute. Stephen OíNeill levelled from a free before Galway opened up a two-point advantage after nine minutes thanks to efforts from John Devane and Michael Donnellan.
The Tribesmen had a major let-off moments later when goalkeeper Brian O'Donoghue was forced to make an excellent save from Sean Cavanagh. However, after O'Neill had reduced the deficit to the minimum, Tyrone got the goal they had been threatening to score in the 12th minute when Eoin Mulligan knocked down a high ball into the path of O'Neill who in turn passed to Brian McGuigan. The centre forward side-stepped Paul Clancy before firing a powerful shot to the left corner of the net.
Mulligan and Padraic Joyce then exchanged points before Mulligan made it 1-4 to 0-4 after 15 minutes. Galway came back with two pointed frees from Donnellan and Joyce before Matthew Clancy poked wide with a goal at his mercy.
Galway's persistence looked set to pay off when Joyce was brought down for a penalty after fielding a high ball in the 26th minute, but Derek Joyce fluffed the resultant spot-kick his weak shot being easily saved by Pascal McConnell. A Tyrone counterattack ended with Cavanagh fisting over so instead of being 1-6 to 1-4 in arrears, they led by 1-5 to 0-6.
Tyrone dominated the remainder of the half, but let their Connacht opponents off the hook by shooting four bad wides. Two points from Mulligan extended Tyrone's lead following the resumption. After O'Neill and Joyce had both spurned goalscoring opportunities, Galway staged a spirited fightback which yielded points from Sean O Domhnaill and Joyce (two). But just when it seemed the Tribesmen would restore parity, Mickey Harte sprung Peter Canavan from the bench to turn the game back in Tyrone's favour.
Mulligan made it 1-8 to 0-9 before the Errigal Ciaran star shot a magnificent point with his first touch. Canavan could have had a goal moments later but for a timely intervention by Galway ëkeeper O'Donoghue, but Tyrone powered on regardless with further scores from Cavanagh, OíNeill (two) and Brian Dooher.
Substitute Tommie Joyce replied for Galway before another Tyrone scoring blitz resulted in points for Shane Sweeney, Philip Jordan, O'Neill and Cavanagh between the 61st and 68th minutes. Tyrone's thoughts had already turned to the All-Ireland qualifier fourth round draw by the time Tomas Meehan managed a late consolation score from a demoralised Galway outfit.
